Climbing a Tree

Although I don’t have any of my own children, I know that taking pictures of your own kids does not always go as planned.  But don’t let that stop you from getting beautiful memories.  How about climbing a tree?  It’s great for getting a summertime portrait of your child when you can’t get them to sit still for more than 2 seconds.  Finding the perfect climbing tree can be a fun mini adventure too!  Once you find your tree and get them in a good spot (be sure it’s safe and keep another adult close by as a spotter) they will usually sit there for several minutes (which is an eternity in kid time).  So you’ve got them in one spot, they’re super excited about where they are and NOW they’re more likely to give you that smile you’ve been trying to get out of them since you picked up your camera!  Good luck and happy shooting!
